Aleš Čermák (b. 1984) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Intermedia Studio II / the studio of Jiří Příhoda). His work can be described as a poetics of social forms, which he has long developed in an interdisciplinary field between performance, literature, and conceptual work with text. In recent years his activities have moved increasingly toward theatrical forms, and many of his projects belong more to the context of experimental theater. He is the founder of the publishing house Ausdruck Books.
