About the authors
Hanka Kubišová (b. 1998) is a graduate of the Secondary School of Art in Ostrava. Her final project documents her father after a serious car accident. The photographs trace the course of his rehabilitation and his effort to get back on his feet, as well as how important family is at such moments.
Petra Steinerová (b. 1980, Prague) is a Czech photographer. She studied photography at Michael’s Fine Art School of Photography in Middletown (1994–1998) and at FAMU in Prague (1999–2005), and also completed an internship at Middlesex University in London. In 2006, together with Michal Pěchouček, she co-founded Galerie 35m2 in Prague’s Žižkov district, focused on exhibiting recent art school graduates. Her photographic work centers on personal records—among other things, she has documented the transformation of her father’s identity and recreational cottages and their social dimension.
At the Uničov photo festival, Tereza Benešová (b. 1997) presented her series of staged photographs. The work tells the story of her father, whom she had not seen for over six years — a man who suddenly disappeared from his daughter’s life without a word. With this body of work, Tereza Benešová successfully completed her studies at the Secondary School of Art in Ostrava.
