Exhibition: Luka Prijatelj

Luka Prijatelj is a Slovenian photographer living and working in Ljubljana. He explores the photographic medium in its most elementary form — direct imprints of color created using only light, a glass prism, and light-sensitive material. In his central series Traces / Urphänomen, he builds on historical observations of the refraction of white light as studied by Newton and Goethe and translates them into the language of photography. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana and has exhibited in Maribor, Ljubljana, Vienna, Perth, and the Czech Republic, among other places.
