Exhibition: Magdalena A. Turzová: Sadness of Things
The exhibition Sadness of Things by Magdalena A. Turzová was presented at the 6th edition of Fotofestival Uničov, themed Fotografie jako předobraz (Photography as a Prefiguration). The series of paintings, based on amateur photographs of banal objects offered for free online (a fish tank, a couch, a portable cabin), was shown at Galerie UPSIDE|DOWN (Gymnázium Uničov, Gymnazijní 257) and opened on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 17:00.
About the author
Magdalena A. Turzová (b. 1978, Uherské Hradiště) is a Czech painter and educator living in Lobodice and Prostějov. She works as an assistant professor at the Department of Art Education of the Faculty of Education, Palacký University Olomouc, where she teaches painting and drawing. Her work focuses on figurative painting — interiors and exteriors of the Czech countryside that offer an analogy of human lives and cycles through images of everyday objects and architectural fragments.
