Oldřich Bystřický: Tichý díl (performance)

Friday evening performance Tichý díl (Silent Part) by Oldřich Bystřický at New Teta Gallery (Dr. Beneše 89). The artist works with small traces from the era of handcraft — tiles from the demolished ground floors of functionalist apartment buildings, construction manuals, photo postcards, stencils, and yellowed drawings from geometry class, supplemented by his own drawings.

About the author

Oldřich Bystřický

In his work, Oldřich Bystřický (1981) sifts through a rich archive of images. He collects small traces from times when handmade production still prevailed and nothing was made to barely outlast its warranty. Sometimes these are literal fragments — such as tiles from the demolished ground floors of functionalist apartment buildings. At other times, construction manuals, photo postcards, stencils, yellowed drawings from geometry class. His own drawings affirm their timelessness.
