About the author
Terezie Tomková (b. 1998) is a visual intermedia artist based in Brno. She completed a master’s degree in Art Education Teaching at the Faculty of Education of Palacký University Olomouc. She also took part in study stays in Portugal (Faro) and Hungary, where she began to engage more deeply with ceramics and explore her individual relationship to this versatile medium. She is currently studying at FAVU in Brno in Painting Studio 3, where she explores her own means of expression with a taste for experimental approaches.
Her work links ceramics, drawing and personal mythology, moving between intuitive expression and subtle conceptualization. She often starts from her daily drawings and notes, which she transforms into three-dimensional objects reflecting themes of memory, time and care. Alongside these forms, she also works in free drawing and illustration, and her approach extends into animated film. Her work is often childishly playful and vividly colored, yet carries a delicate layer of melancholy, stillness and contemplation. Terezie is interested in the process of transformation, recording and everyday presence. She works eclectically, with a feel for detail and association. She is naturally drawn to natural, organic forms and emphasizes surface texture.
