Exhibition: Tomáš Pospěch: Pěstitelské a kurátorské práce
The exhibition Pěstitelské a kurátorské práce (Cultivation and Curatorial Work) by Tomáš Pospěch was presented at the 6th edition of Fotofestival Uničov (Uničov Photo Festival), themed Fotografie jako předobraz (Photography as Prefiguration). Working with found slides from the Agrokombinát Slušovice agricultural conglomerate (made between 1978 and 1989 by Zlín advertising photographer Jan Regal), the exhibition took place at Galerie U Minoritů (Haškova 217) and opened on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 18:00.
About the author
In his work, Tomáš Pospěch (1974) offers a new perspective on found photographic archives. At the festival he presented, among other things, a project based on slides of the Agrokombinát Slušovice agricultural conglomerate, made between 1978 and 1989 by Zlín advertising photographer Jan Regal. Placed in a new context, the photographs lose nothing of what they actually depict, but they newly offer a comparison of further layers of the image, in which we can follow the various systems of representation and promotional strategies used when they were created.
