About the author

Tereza Kabůrková

Tereza Kabůrková (b. 1980, Chomutov) is a photographer living and working in Prague. She studied in the Photography Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (UJEP) in Ústí nad Labem (1999–2004). Her work is closer to paintings from the turn of the 20th century than to the contemporary understanding of photography — she is fascinated by light, color, and space. She photographs simple objects (chairs, tables, windows), transforming them into images for admirers of plain beauty. She spends part of the year in the Šumava region, in the village of Týnec. She has been exhibiting since 2002.
