The Friday opening of Tereza Šrámková’s exhibition at Šatlava, as part of the Friday launch of openings.
About the author
Tereza Šrámková typically works with environmental themes, the Anthropocene, and fiction, which she most often explores in concrete sculptures, ceramic objects, and traditional printmaking techniques. She wanders through fictional landscapes where humans are absent but their intervention is evident. She is currently exploring these themes in connection with ancient cultures and their mythologies, blending them into her own conception of mysticism, stories, worlds, and archaeology. She chose this subject for her diploma work because she is fascinated by the distant and the non-contemporary. Ancient Egypt and classical antiquity are widely known for their rich mythology and symbolism, offering nourishing material in both content and form that is still being drawn upon today. Although they are far removed from our present, there is also something close about them — something fascinating that touches us deeply.
