Jiří Žák

Jiří Žák (b. 1989) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Intermedia Studio). He works primarily with the moving image and video installations in which research components intertwine with poetic elements and narrative form. In 2015 he won the EXIT Award, and in 2020 he was a co-recipient of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award. He is interested in the identity of post-communist countries and its deconstruction through non-Western perspectives.
