For 13 years now, we have been organizing a contemporary art festival in Uničov. As it happens, this year we start on the thirteenth, a Thursday. Is 13 a year of crisis?

In ancient Greece, the number 13 was associated with Hades, the god of death. In tarot, too, the number 13 is linked to the Death card. In this context, however, it does not mean literal death, but rather change, transformation, or the end of one phase and the beginning of a new cycle.

The theme of the 13th edition is fluktum, a word generated by the human mind.

Frequency of particles. Market volatility. Oscillating between commissions. Mood swings. Instability? Trembling. More or less free movement. Inflation of information. Deflation of attention. Oscillation of values.

Where is the equilibrium?

Through encounters between creative people and the individual parts of the program (including exhibitions, film screenings, installations in public space, poetry, and spoken word), we will try to create a space for contemplating how we perceive values. We will look for a point of balance. We will look for a positive flow.
