Markéta Othová (b. 1968, Brno) is a Czech photographer and printmaker. She studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM). She belongs to the generation of influential artists who established themselves on the art scene in the 1990s after the Velvet Revolution. In 2002 she became only the second woman ever to win the Jindřich Chalupecký Award. She works almost exclusively in large-format black-and-white photography organized in series, marked by a unique sensitivity to the banal and to everyday motifs.
