About the authors

Anežka Abrtová

Anežka Abrtová is a visual artist and a student/graduate of AVU in Prague (Academy of Fine Arts; diploma 2024). She also studied at UMPRUM and at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts (AKBILD).

Her primary medium is drawing, which she combines with sculpture, object, and performance. She works in a process-based way — uncovering an inner map between visual imagination and outer space, often through the body as a record of movement. Her central motif is the human body in its physicality and intimacy.

In April/May 2023 she had an exhibition, Stabbed her with knife, at the AVU POP-UP gallery. At the 11th edition of the UFF festival (2021), her film (made together with Nela Britaňáková) was screened at Kino Družba.
